About the Journal
The Canadian Journal of Music Therapy (CJMT) is a bilingual, peer-reviewed publication that aims to raise international standards of music therapy knowledge and practice.
CJMT provides a written medium for the dissemination of music therapy scholarship, especially that of Canadian music therapists followed by non-Canadian music therapists and members of allied disciplines. The principal criteria for acceptance of material are originality and quality.
We seek articles on music therapy research, theory and practice and the intersection between music therapy, the arts and science. We accept articles in English and in French. We welcome submissions from first time authors and seasoned veterans and offer a manuscript development program to assist authors through the writing process.
The deadline is September 1st, though we welcome articles year round. Submissions for articles and book reviews received after June 30th may not be published in the current year’s journal.
